Years ago, Konsta Lioutkovski, CEO of Nord Raudoitus, worked as a site foreman on construction projects for wind power plants.
During those years, he repeatedly encountered the same problem: it was difficult to find skilled professionals in Finland who could handle demanding tasks, such as wind turbine foundations or concrete work for industrial projects.
Delays and low-quality workmanship seemed to be part of everyday life on construction sites.
Before founding his own company, Konsta Lioutkovski worked as a site supervisor on wind power and industrial construction projects.
"I remember one site where 25 workers came in for orientation – and only four of them were true professionals."
On that same site, Konsta met two men who would later become his business partners.
"We worked together on a rebar project, and their skills impressed me immediately. They acted as team leads, and every task was completed with quality and on schedule. I was amazed – not only did they stay on schedule, but they often finished ahead of it!" Konsta recalls.
But it wasn’t just about technical skills.
"You could always rely on them, and they were easy to work with. Their ability to get along with others and create a good atmosphere was exceptional. And then there was the humor! Even though we spoke different languages, we always found a shared rhythm in laughter."
"It opened my eyes. How can you expect a quality outcome in a situation like that?" Konsta says.
